I don't believe in worksheets and don't think the worksheets in this book should be given to students in exchange for instruction. This is a great book to use for direct one on one instruction for students because it is so visual. As an ESL teacher, you will need to teach your beginning students about all of the content inside this book. Thus, this book takes away the hours of trying to develop your own materials. Again, this book should not be used as the only form of instruction, but it is definitely a wonderful supplemental resource.especially for new teachers! I have both the K-2 and 3-6 Newcomer Programs.

I find the information for teachers section very helpful for paraeducators in my building, as well as for teachers who are new to having ELLs in their classes. I love the variety of activities to reinforce the BICS as a newcomer gets started on this new journey. I also do some teacher training and was recommending this set to students who were ready to graduate, to have in their professional libraries. I was saddened to discover that they are no longer in print. I have yet to find anything that compares.
